Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Esper midrange combo list built around Marneus Calgar. It leverages high-density fast mana and premier card engines like Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, and Esper Sentinel to maintain card flow while advancing its board. The commander turns incidental token creation from cards like Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff and Smothering Tithe into steady card advantage. The primary win condition is the compact, format-defining combo of Thassa's Oracle paired with Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact, which wins on the spot for as little as three mana. Proactive protection pieces like Grand Abolisher, Silence, and Ranger-Captain of Eos ensure clean combo execution by denying opposing responses. If the primary win condition is disrupted, the deck can pivot into infinite mana loops with Basalt Monolith and Forensic Gadgeteer to draw the library and close the game.
