Deck overview

This deck is a five-color combo-focused toolbox helmed by Rukarumel, Biologist. The primary strategy leverages Rukarumel's ability to grant creature types across all zones. By naming 'Pirate', the deck transforms Reckless Fireweaver into a Pirate, establishing an infinite direct-damage loop with Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator. Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield, Fireweaver deals one damage to each opponent, triggering Malcolm to create three Treasure tokens. These entering Treasures trigger Fireweaver again, creating an unbounded deterministic loop that eliminates all three opponents on the spot. The deck features substantial redundancy through Transmute tutors like Muddle the Mixture, Dimir Infiltrator, and Drift of Phantasms, alongside secondary win conditions like Turntimber Ranger combined with Maskwood Nexus or Conspiracy, and Intruder Alarm with Presence of Gond. A heavy ramp suite of 22 pieces facilitates casting the five-color commander on curve despite a basic-land mana base, while low-cost counterspells protect the winning turn.
