Shirei by Chaz017

Format: Commander

Commander: Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats engine built around Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker. The plan floods the board with power-1-or-less creatures, sacrifices them for value, and lets Shirei return them at end of turn for another loop. Drain payoffs (Blood Artist, Ayara, First of Locthwain, Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond) convert every death into life-total pressure, while edict engines (Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, Attrition) clear opposing boards. Free and cheap sac outlets (Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Priest of Forgotten Gods) keep the machine running. A large Exsanguinate off Cabal Coffers/Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx/altar mana is the clean finisher when the incremental drains have not already closed the game. Shirei is the recursion lynchpin but is not itself a combo piece; the 99 still carries drain, edicts, and backup reanimation.
