Deck overview

This Golgari midrange deck is commanded by Aphelia, Viper Whisperer and revolves around a lethal swarm of deathtouch Snakes and Gorgons. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with dense 1–2 CMC ramp and deploying low-cost deathtouch threats such as Ankle Biter and Pharika's Chosen. Once Aphelia enters the battlefield, attacking triggers the creation of deathtouch Snake tokens, quickly building a formidable combat presence that opponents struggle to block profitably. The deck transitions into a lethal threat by activating Aphelia's {4}{B} ability to halve opponents' life totals upon combat damage, or by leveraging alternate win conditions like Fynn, the Fangbearer's poison counters and Rottenmouth Viper's compounding blight triggers. Supported by robust card draw from Skullclamp and Ohran Frostfang, along with premier Golgari removal, the deck grinds down opposing life totals and boards across multiple combat steps.
