Deck overview

This deck is a thematic Izzet burn control build led by Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph. The strategy leverages Ghyrson's ability to turn every instance of 1 damage into 3 damage, converting traditional 'tim' pingers like Prodigal Sorcerer and Gelectrode into repeatable removal engines. Inexpensive asymmetric sweepers such as End the Festivities and Electrickery efficiently wipe opposing boards of utility creatures and tokens. Built with a casual philosophy, the list runs 37 lands and only Arcane Signet for ramp, eschewing fast mana, tutors, and infinite combos. While it excels at dominating creature-based combat tables, its incremental burn clock gives opponents multiple turns to find answers. Without dedicated countermagic or protection spells in the 99, the deck must rely on redundant creature threats and high-end dragons like Niv-Mizzet, Parun to close out the game.
