Deck overview

This deck executes a high-velocity Group Hug and Token Swarm strategy commanded by Xyris, the Writhing Storm. The game plan revolves around playing symmetrical draw engines such as Howling Mine, Font of Mythos, and Dictate of Kruphix to rapidly cycle cards for all players. Once Xyris is deployed on Turn 5, every card opponents draw beyond their first draw generates a 1/1 green Snake token. Symmetrical burst draw spells like Prosperity, Vision Skeins, and Burning Inquiry flood the battlefield with dozens of Snakes in a single turn. The deck leverages token-based mana acceleration from Jaheira, Friend of the Forest and Springleaf Parade to cast massive spells, while Junk Winder locks down opposing boards. Finally, haste enablers and combat buffs like Roar of Resistance and Frostcliff Siege convert the massive token swarm into an overwhelming combat finish.
