Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Simic Merfolk typal strategy commanded by Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. It blends efficient creature-based board development with card advantage and combo finishes. Early turns establish a critical mass of low-cost Merfolk such as Vodalian Hexcatcher, Stonybrook Banneret, and token generators like Deeproot Pilgrimage. Kumena converts these untapped creatures into card draw and counters, while untap engines like Seedborn Muse and Merrow Commerce turn this into a massive resource advantage across every player's turn. The primary win condition centers on assembling Isochron Scepter imprinting Dramatic Reversal. With at least 3 nonland mana available, this generates infinite mana and infinite untaps, allowing Kumena to draw the entire deck, grow the board to lethal power, and bounce opposing boards with Cyclonic Rift. Alternatively, wide combat damage through Islandwalk lords and Herald of Secret Streams offers a reliable backup win.
