Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black midrange engine piloted by The Speed Demon. The game plan leverages early-turn life loss through cards like Creeping Bloodsucker and Ayara, First of Locthwain to start engine speed before casting the commander on turn 5. Once resolved, The Speed Demon quickly accelerates into drawing 3 to 4 cards every end step. The deck converts this immense card flow into a lethal clock using hand-size scaling equipment such as Hand of Vecna and Empyrial Plate, alongside table-wide drain enablers like Psychosis Crawler, Gixian Puppeteer, and Bloodthirsty Conqueror. A robust package of low-mana death-redirection spells keeps the commander protected from removal, while classic black sweepers like Toxic Deluge and Blasphemous Edict reset opposing aggression. The deck reliably dominates long games through card advantage, life-total disparity, and devastating drain finishers.
