Deck overview

This mono-black control deck focuses on aggressive hand destruction, forced sacrifices, and asymmetric resource theft spearheaded by Tergrid, God of Fright. The deck accelerates its mana using efficient artifact ramp and powerful black mana engines like Cabal Coffers, Lake of the Dead, and Crypt Ghast. Once Tergrid enters the battlefield, resolving cards like Dark Deal, Delirium Skeins, or Pox strips opponents of cards and creatures while placing every permanent discarded or sacrificed directly onto your side of the board. Secondary engines like Waste Not, Geth's Grimoire, and Tinybones, Trinket Thief convert opposing discards into card advantage, mana, and life loss. If Tergrid faces heavy removal, the deck easily pivots into a punishing stax and attrition game, finishing opponents through passive drain triggers, stolen combat power, or an overwhelming Torment of Hailfire.
