Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir theft/control strategy helmed by the unconventional commander **X**, a card that allows you to cast spells from an opponent's hand for free. The primary game plan involves using symmetrical draw effects (Howling Mine, Dictate of Kruphix, Well of Ideas) to fill opponents' hands, then deploying X's activated ability to put it into an opponent's hand and later cast spells from that hand without paying their mana costs. The deck also features a robust theft subtheme (Agent of Treachery, Hostage Taker, Garland, Royal Kidnapper, Gonti, Night Minister) to steal permanents directly. Win conditions are gradual: accruing value through stolen cards, generating card advantage, and eventually overwhelming opponents with the combined power of their own threats plus a few of your own (Darksteel Colossus, Thieving Amalgam). The deck has no infinite combos, relying on incremental advantage and a slow, grinding path to victory.
