Deck overview

This Golgari Superfriends deck uses Carth the Lion to accelerate and curate a dense package of 17 planeswalkers. Carth enhances planeswalker loyalty abilities by adding +1 to their activation costs, allowing planeswalkers like Garruk, Cursed Huntsman, Vraska, Golgari Queen, and Nissa, Ascended Animist to reach their ultimates rapidly. The deck establishes early board control through efficient deathtouch blockers such as Ophiomancer and Dragon Sniper, which discourage opponents from attacking planeswalkers on the ground. Proliferate engines like Evolution Sage and Innkeeper's Talent compound loyalty counters and +1/+1 counters across the board. The deck maintains substantial resilience by using planeswalker abilities to wipe creatures, destroy problematic nonland permanents, and generate card advantage. Victory is achieved around Turn 8 through overwhelming token armies buffed by planeswalker emblems, lethal commander damage lines, or direct overrun effects.
