Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Jeskai Spellslinger list led by Gandalf, Party Guest. The strategy focuses on establishing early legendary Wizards such as Balmor, Battlemage Captain and Kaza, Roil Chaser, enabling Gandalf to cheat impactful instants and sorceries directly into play at the start of each combat phase. Rather than relying on infinite combos or stax locks, the deck plays a tempo-oriented midrange game plan. It leverages free spells to trigger prowess and team-wide combat buffs while deploying defensive measures like Aetherize, Settle the Wreckage, and an efficient counterspell suite to survive opposing aggression. In the mid-to-late game, the deck transitions into a wide aggressive threat by casting spells like Gideon's Phalanx, Double Vision, and For the Emperor!, closing the game through repeated evasive attacks and direct burn spells.
