Deck overview

This Gruul deck is built around Etali, Primal Conquerer as a high-mana-value value engine that wins through explosive combat damage or poison via the card's transform side. The primary plan is to accelerate into Etali ahead of curve using a dense suite of rituals (Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual, Geosurge, Mana Geyser) and mana dorks (Birds of Paradise, Llanowar Elves, Arbor Elf), then copy Etali multiple times with cards like Flameshadow Conjuring, Heat Shimmer, Twinflame, Jaxis, the Troublemaker, and Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink. Each copy trigger exiles cards from each library and lets the deck cast them for free, generating immense card advantage and tempo. The secondary win path is transforming Etali into Etali, Primal Sickness (11/11 trample indestructible) and poisoning opponents, often using Blade of Selves to hit all three opponents in one swing. The deck lacks traditional infinite combos, relying instead on raw velocity and redundancy to overwhelm the table.
