Garland - Let me take your subjects! by ClyDeft

Format: Commander

Commander: Garland, Royal Kidnapper

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Dimir theft-and-monarch deck helmed by Garland, Royal Kidnapper, whose ETB crowns an opponent and whose trigger steals a creature from whoever becomes the monarch. The deck leans hard into that identity with a dense package of 20+ steal effects - Agent of Treachery, Bribery, Gilded Drake, Hostage Taker, The Cyber-Controller, Arvinox, the Mind Flail, and Dream Harvest - plus a reanimation spine (Rise of the Dark Realms, Bringer of the Last Gift, Virtue of Persistence) to weaponize opponents' graveyards. Stolen creatures get +2/+2 and can't be sacrificed from Garland's anthem, turning the table's own threats into the win condition. The deck is a value grind: it has no infinite combos, no haste kill, and no commander-damage plan, so it wins by out-valuing the pod and closing with a massive stolen/reanimated board.
