Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer at the helm of an equipment-focused beatdown strategy. Deploying Whiplash on Turn 1 allows the deck to immediately attach low-cost equipment on Turn 2 and begin triggering Whiplash's attack ability on Turn 3 to drain all opponents simultaneously. The deck scales its offensive pressure through high-impact equipment such as Cranial Plating, Nettlecyst, and Lashwrithe, converting an artifact board into double-digit combat hits and heavy life drain. While the deck boasts high redundancy among cheap equipment, its reliance on combat damage means it eliminates opponents one by one over several turns. The interaction suite offers solid creature removal via cards like Withering Torment and Murder, alongside late-game disruption from Archfiend of Depravity and Massacre Wurm. However, the absence of low-cost tutors and thin ramp make the deck dependent on natural draw steps and vulnerable to well-timed removal.
