Hope to Mill by user1702087

Format: Commander

Commander: Hope Estheim

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Azorius deck helmed by Hope Estheim is a life-gain/mill hybrid that aims to gain large amounts of life each turn, then convert that life into mill damage via the commander's end-step trigger. The life-gain suite is deep-cards like Soul Warden, Ajani's Welcome, and Authority of the Consuls provide steady triggers, while doublers such as Alhammarret's Archive, Rhox Faithmender, and The Wind Crystal amplify each point of life gained. Direct mill spells like Maddening Cacophony, Traumatize, and Fractured Sanity offer burst mill to close out games faster. Felidar Sovereign serves as an alternate win condition if the life total reaches 40. The deck uses a modest control shell of counterspells and removal to protect its life total and disrupt opponents, but it lacks tutors and fast mana, making it a slower, grindier strategy that wins incrementally.
