Deck overview

This is a high-power Esper control-midrange list built around Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The plan is to land the 4-mana commander, then cast noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater so she pings each opponent for 2, gains 2 life, and draws at the end step once anyone has lost 4+ life. Those life-gain triggers feed drain payoffs such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Enduring Tenacity, and Queza, Augur of Agonies, while a deep instant-speed suite keeps the rest of the table honest. The compact kill is Heliod, Sun-Crowned plus Walking Ballista; Exsanguinate, Torment of Hailfire, and Bolas's Citadel are the dedicated closers, with Yawgmoth's Will and Emet-Selch of the Third Seat recasting the spell suite for a decisive turn. Y'shtola is the engine that turns every expensive instant, sorcery, enchantment, and planeswalker into cards and damage, but the 99 can still drain, combo, and control if she is absent.
