Deck overview

This Golgari Tokens and Aristocrats deck is commanded by Chatterfang, Squirrel General, focusing on overwhelming board presence, oppressive creature control, and explosive aristocrats drain. The game plan centers on accelerating Chatterfang onto the battlefield on Turn 3, followed by efficient token generators such as Tireless Provisioner, Peregrin Took, Academy Manufactor, and Deep Forest Hermit. Because Chatterfang creates a 1/1 green Squirrel alongside every token generated—including noncreature Treasures, Foods, and Clues—the deck rapidly amasses wide swarms. These tokens serve dual functions: fuel for Chatterfang's repeatable on-board removal to suppress opposing commanders and threats, and fodder for lethal win conditions. Victory is achieved through devastating overrun attacks via Beastmaster Ascension or scaling life drain using aristocrats payoffs like Bastion of Remembrance, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Nadier's Nightblade. With potent draw engines like Skullclamp and Idol of Oblivion, the deck maintains steady card velocity, closing games reliably by Turn 7.
