Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain combo and control engine commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. It leverages incidental lifegain from Soul Sisters and tax permanents to draw deep into the library using the commander's triggered ability. The mana curve is accelerated by low-cost mana rocks, Dark Ritual, and treasure generators such as Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff and Smothering Tithe. The primary win condition is an infinite life-drain loop pairing Exquisite Blood with Enduring Tenacity or Marauding Blight-Priest, which immediately eliminates all opponents upon any life change. Alternative victory routes include casting Approach of the Second Sun, deploying Bolas's Citadel to storm through the deck, or resolving massive drain sorceries like Exsanguinate and Debt to the Deathless. An extensive removal suite and efficient protection spells keep the board stable while assembling the winning combination.
