Deck overview

This Sultai self-mill deck treats the graveyard as a second hand and a second battlefield. Teval, the Balanced Scale attacks to mill three, immediately rebuys a land from the graveyard, and converts every graveyard-leaving event into a 2/2 Zombie Druid token, creating a snowballing engine of lands, tokens, and triggers. The 99 amplifies that loop with Sidisi, Brood Tyrant, Muldrotha, the Gravetide, The Gitrog Monster, Aftermath Analyst, and Life from the Loam, while Field of the Dead and Insidious Roots turn landfall and graveyard movement into a wide board. Wins are typically settled through combat - Pathbreaker Ibex plus flying from Wonder or Geralf, Visionary Stitcher - or through drain effects: Syr Konrad, the Grim, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, and The Scarab God. A threshold finish using an enormous Souls of the Lost sacrificed to Jarad is the deck's most explosive non-combat closer.
