Deck overview

Zahur, Glory's Past helms an Orzhov Aristocrats deck that converts recurring creature deaths into steady life drain and board dominance. The deck establishes early board presence with cheap sacrifice outlets such as Viscera Seer and Bartolomé del Presidio, paired with resilient recursive creatures like Gravecrawler, Forsaken Miner, and Reassembling Skeleton. As creatures cycle through the graveyard, pingers including Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim steadily drain opposing life totals while advancing Zahur's speed mechanic toward Max Speed. Upon reaching Max Speed or resolving high-impact amplifiers like Pitiless Plunderer, Teysa Karlov, or Syr Konrad, the Grim, the engine creates an overwhelming wave of replacement Zombie tokens and mana Treasures. This enables rapid drain loops that close out the game. The deck features remarkable resilience through mass recursion spells like Raise the Past and Dewdrop Cure, allowing it to recover quickly from board wipes and function independently of its commander.
