Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Rakdos treasure-control helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable. Smaug is not just a beater; it is a mana furnace. The core line is simple: hurt Smaug with noncombat damage, then spend the resulting Treasures on more damage, spells, and drains. Pyrohemia and Pestilence turn every 1 point of pinging into a repeating loop because each Treasure can pay for the next activation. If the loop is missing, one-shot damage from Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, Blasphemous Act, or Star of Extinction creates huge Treasure bursts that feed Crackle with Power, Exsanguinate via Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate, or Revel in Riches. Smaug the Magnificent is a secondary treasure-hunting dragon in the 99, not a hidden commander.
