Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Izzet spellslinger strategy that converts dense instant and sorcery casting into devastating noncombat burn. Commanded by Gandalf the Grey, the deck leverages modal triggers to untap mana sources, copy high-impact spells, and burn all opponents. The broader 99 functions as a highly redundant storm engine powered by velocity enablers such as Storm-Kiln Artist, Birgi, God of Storytelling, and Archmage Emeritus. By chaining low-cost cantrips, rituals, and flicker spells, the deck rapidly accumulates spell count to trigger pingers like Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, and Coruscation Mage. Displacer Kitten acts as a potent combo enabler, resetting Gandalf's modal choices repeatedly on each cast. When ready to close, Underworld Breach and Mizzix's Mastery recycle the graveyard to deliver lethal table-wide damage in a single explosive turn.
