Deck overview

This deck is a aggressive Boros combat deck commanded by Shadowfax, Lord of Horses. The core game plan focuses on utilizing early 2-CMC mana acceleration to deploy Shadowfax on Turn 4. Because Horses have haste, Shadowfax attacks immediately upon entry, triggering its ability to cheat a creature with lesser power directly from hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. By incorporating power-boosting equipment such as Hero's Blade, Blackblade Reforged, and Excalibur, Sword of Eden, Shadowfax can cheat in massive high-CMC bombs including Terror of Mount Velus, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, and Moonshaker Cavalry. The deck compounds combat pressure using extra combat enablers like Aurelia, the Warleader, Bloodthirster, and Port Razer. While the deck possesses explosive damage potential and resilient protection spells, it is vulnerable to empty-hand friction and heavy board wipes if its combat engines are disrupted.
