The Price is Pain! by AttemptedNERDer

Format: Commander

Commander: The Lord of Pain

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is a group-slug politics build centered on The Lord of Pain. The primary plan is to let opponents cast expensive first spells and redirect that damage with the commander while symmetric draw-drain pieces-Seizan, Spiteful Visions, Stormfist Crusader-bleed every player. Secondary paths use goad and forced combat (Disrupt Decorum, Karazikar, Life of the Party, Alexios, Xantcha) to make enemies kill each other, with Descent into Avernus and chaos effects like Wild Evocation providing closing burn and free spell triggers. Xantcha and Alexios act as pet hidden commanders that continue the same plan if The Lord of Pain is removed. The deck is slow, has no true combo, and needs setup turns to convert card draw into life loss.
