Deck overview

This mono-black deck blends Zombie tribal combat with an aristocrats sacrifice engine and Liliana planeswalker synergies. Led by Liliana, Heretical Healer, the deck looks to establish an early creature presence, trigger Liliana's transformation into Liliana, Defiant Necromancer, and grind down opponents using repeated discard and reanimation. As the game develops, tribal lords like Lord of the Accursed and Liliana's Mastery turn Zombie tokens into significant combat threats, while drain anchors like Blood Artist, Arnyn, Deathbloom Botanist, and Syr Konrad, the Grim turn every creature death into table-wide life loss. The deck excels at creature attrition and graveyard recursion, repeatedly recycling its threats through mass reanimation spells like Command the Dreadhorde. While vulnerable to fast combo decks and noncreature permanents, it thrives in creature-heavy, grindy multiplayer games.
