Deck overview

This mono-black deck blends aristocrats sacrifice loops, graveyard reanimation, and big-mana acceleration under Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The early game focuses on deploying efficient mana rocks, rituals, and sacrifice outlets like Warren Soultrader and Ashnod's Altar. By Turn 4, the deck uses Buried Alive or draw engines to set up lethal payoffs. On Turn 5, it deploys massive game-warping threats such as Archon of Cruelty, Archfiend of Despair, and Butcher of Malakir, or brings out Avacyn, Angel of Horror to trigger recurring end-step recursion. By sacrificing and returning edict creatures like Accursed Marauder, it repeatedly strips opponents of their creatures and cards while breaking parity with death triggers from The Meathook Massacre and Grim Haruspex. The deck closes the game by Turn 8 through overwhelming flying combat damage and doubled life loss, presenting an oppressive attrition engine that dominates creature-centric tables.
