Deck overview

This deck is a classic Grixis control deck commanded by Crosis, the Purger, centered around hand destruction, Nicol Bolas thematic planeswalkers, and flying combat finishers. The strategy relies on maintaining a high land count to hit land drops reliably, utilizing efficient spot removal like Terminate and Bedevil to navigate the early game. In the mid-to-late game, the deck deploys powerful attrition engines including Painful Quandary, Waste Not, and Geth's Grimoire to punish opponents for playing cards. Once resources are depleted, Crosis, the Purger and large threats like Thundermaw Hellkite and Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh close out the match through evasive combat damage and devastating loyalty abilities. While the list excels at grinding out card advantage in casual pods, its high average mana curve, reliance on combat connections, and lack of fast tutors create a deliberate, multi-turn clock.
