Commander: Kess, Dissident Mage

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This is a high-power Grixis wheels and storm deck helmed by Kess, Dissident Mage. The plan is to accelerate with dense fast mana, deploy draw-and-discard punishers, then resolve wheels to drain the table, refill, and chain into a lethal storm or infect finish. Kess, Dissident Mage is a value engine that recasts a wheel, ritual, or tutor from the graveyard each turn, but the win lines live entirely in the 99-Breach storm, punisher stacks, and pirate damage loops all function without her. Primary wins are Underworld Breach + Brain Freeze (and related escape lines), multi-punisher wheels with Sheoldred, the Apocalypse / Underworld Dreams / Bloodchief Ascension, and Glint-Horn Buccaneer discard loops (often with Curiosity or Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator). Backup paths include infect via Phyresis / Tainted Strike and grindy Tergrid, God of Fright lock value off forced discards.
