Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Spellslinger Combo-Control strategy centered on Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana, filtering through the library with efficient cantrips, and maintaining board control using a dense suite of low-cost counterspells and removal. The primary win condition is the iconic two-card infinite combo between Niv-Mizzet, Parun and Curiosity (or Ophidian Eye). Once attached, dealing damage draws a card, which triggers Niv-Mizzet to deal another damage, drawing the entire library and burning out the table or winning through Thassa's Oracle. If Niv-Mizzet is removed or unavailable, the deck pivots smoothly into an alternate storm win line utilizing Underworld Breach, Brain Freeze, and Thassa's Oracle. Supported by free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship, the deck protects its combo turn while punishing opponent spellcasts with overwhelming card draw.
