DragonStorm Commander

Format: Commander

Commander: Rowan, Scion of War

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Rowan, Scion of War turns life lost into mana discounts, and this deck is built to weaponize that exchange. The main plan is to pay life through Wall of Blood, pain lands, and black draw spells, then activate Rowan so black/red spells-especially Exsanguinate and Dragonstorm-cost almost nothing. A parallel dragon package with Dragon Tempest, Lathliss, Scourge of Valkas, and treasure producers gives a combat/ETB backup and provides an alternate storm finisher. The commander is the fulcrum: without her the deck is a slow dragon deck, but with her it can one-shot the table. The deck accepts life-total risk for explosive turns, but its reliance on Rowan and on a small set of finishers limits consistency.
