Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir artifact midrange and attrition strategy helmed by Golbez, Crystal Collector. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap artifacts, artifact lands, and token generators to establish a dense board state while triggering Golbez's surveil ability on every artifact entry. Golbez repeatedly filters the library, bins high-power artifact creatures like Metalwork Colossus and Noxious Gearhulk, and returns them to hand at the end step once four artifacts are assembled. As the board grows to eight artifacts, Golbez transforms into a lethal burn engine, draining all opponents for life equal to the returned creature's power each turn cycle. The deck supports this attrition clock with alternative threats such as Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge, Kappa Cannoneer, and Broodstar. A robust Dimir interaction suite protects the setup with efficient counterspells, creature exile, and defensive wipes like Cyclonic Rift and Aetherize, grinding out opponents through unblockable combat damage and recurring direct life loss.
