Deck overview

This deck is a mid-power Grixis control and reanimator deck built around Lord Xander, the Collector. The game plan focuses on developing mana during the early turns, filtering high-impact creatures into the graveyard, and resolving Xander either through direct casting or reanimation spells like Victimize and Dread Return. Once Xander enters the battlefield, he immediately strips half of an opponent's hand, while attack triggers rapidly mill defending libraries. The deck leverages death-defying instants such as Feign Death and Undying Malice to turn removal spells into double triggers, forcing opponents to sacrifice half their nonland permanents upon his death before returning him to trigger another discard. Secondary win conditions include massive beatdown via Consuming Aberration, evasive pressure from Doom Whisperer and Westgate Regent, and table-wide drain from Exsanguinate, supported by a flexible package of counterspells, spot removal, and targeted graveyard hate.
