Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group slug strategy commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The game plan deploys low-cost passive damage sources that ping opponents during their own turns, reliably triggering Valgavoth to draw three extra cards per turn cycle while growing into a massive flying threat. By turning basic opponent actions like drawing cards, tapping lands, and casting spells into direct life loss, the deck continuously whittles down life totals while preventing opponents from recovering via lifegain blocks from Rampaging Ferocidon and The Lord of Pain. Damage amplifiers such as Spiked Corridor // Torture Pit and The Rollercrusher Ride accelerate the clock into a decisive finish around Turn 8. While the deck boasts immense card draw and robust burn redundancy, its reliance on creature permanents makes it vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers.
