Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue tempo and token-control strategy centered around Lyra, Tolarian Archangel. By capitalizing on cards that draw three or more cards in a single turn—such as Brainstorm, Brainsurge, Frantic Search, and continuous engines like Bident of Thassa and Teferi's Puzzle Box—the deck reliably triggers Lyra's end-step ability to amass an army of 3/3 flying Angel tokens. Secondary payoffs like Alandra, Sky Dreamer, Homunculus Horde, and Ominous Seas broaden the creature board, while Psychosis Crawler provides direct life-drain pressure. Defensively, the deck operates predominantly at instant speed, holding up efficient 1-2 mana counterspells, targeted bounce, and spot hexproof protection like Dive Down. The deck wins through compounding aerial combat damage or explosive draw bursts, closing out the table over two combat rotations while keeping opposing threats in check.
