Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, who turns your life total into a vast mana reserve by paying 2 life per black mana symbol. The deck aims to accelerate into K'rrik on Turn 3 or 4, then immediately convert that mana discount into game-ending card draw and combo lines. Its primary win conditions include the two-card infinite life-drain loop of Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, massive storm bursts fueled by Aetherflux Reservoir, and graveyard loops using Chainer, Dementia Master and Gray Merchant of Asphodel. The deck runs solid early ramp and flexible black removal to survive early aggression. Because its most explosive plays require spending heavy amounts of life, it is vulnerable to burn, early pressure, and well-timed creature removal against K'rrik before the engine gains lifelink traction.
