Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius blink control strategy commanded by Niko, Light of Hope. The game plan revolves around generating Shard enchantment tokens upon Niko's entry and using Niko's activated ability to temporarily transform those Shards into copies of high-impact nonlegendary creatures. By duplicating creatures with powerful enter-the-battlefield abilities—such as Mulldrifter for explosive card draw, Aether Channeler for flexible bounce and tokens, or Sludge Monster for oppressive board suppression—the deck generates massive card advantage and board dominance. A robust suite of counterspells and instant-speed blink spells protects key permanents while disrupting opponents. In the mid-to-late game, the deck transitions from value generation into a decisive finish via overwhelming combat damage with buffed token armies or by assembling the infinite mana and blink loop with Peregrine Drake, Archaeomancer, and Ghostly Flicker, allowing you to bounce all opposing permanents and close the game.
