Format: Commander

Commander: Don Andres, the Renegade

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Don Andres, the Renegade leads a Grixis pirate theft deck that steals permanents and spells from opponents, then turns those cards against their owners. The primary plan is to build a pirate-tribal board while using temporary theft and exile-cast effects to accrue Treasures and card advantage, then finish with a mass-theft turn. Don Andres is both payoff and engine: stolen creatures gain +2/+2, menace, and deathtouch, and casting noncreature spells you don't own creates two Treasures. Secondary paths include pirate beatdown with Shared Animosity, recursion through Admiral Brass and Victimize, and extra combat from Port Razer. The 99 also contains Malcolm and Breeches as strong value pieces, but neither serves as a hidden commander beyond their normal roles.
