Deck overview

This Gruul deck is built around Agatha of the Vile Cauldron, utilizing +1/+1 counters and equipment to increase Agatha's power and drastically reduce the activation costs of creature abilities across the board down to a single mana. The early game accelerates mana using 1-drop elves, land ramp, and scaling dorks like Incubation Druid and Kami of Whispered Hopes. By Turns 3 and 4, the deck buffs Agatha with cards like Hero's Blade, Halana and Alena, Partners, and Rhythm of the Wild, unlocking cheap card filtering through Duskwatch Recruiter and massive ramp via Fertilid. On Turn 6, the deck transitions into a lethal state by pairing a heavily buffed Agatha with repeatable burn sinks like Bhaal's Invoker and Flamewave Invoker or towering trampling threats like Heroes' Bane. Robust low-cost protection spells keep the engine intact against spot removal to secure a Turn 7 table elimination.
