Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Spellslinger Control build commanded by Saruman, the White Hand. The primary strategy focuses on deploying low-cost mana rocks early to cast Saruman on turn 3 or 4, subsequently chaining noncreature spells to amass a massive, tall Orc Army token protected by passive ward {2}. The list pairs reactive interaction, such as efficient counterspells, spot removal, and asymmetric sweepers, with spell-triggered payoffs that fuel both combat aggression and steady card velocity. Win conditions center on scaling the Orc Army into a lethal juggernaut, making it unblockable with The Black Gate or granting team-wide double strike and haste via Assault on Osgiliath. Backup threats like Lord of the Nazgûl provide wide evasive board presence if the primary Voltron plan is disrupted. Strong defensive shielding and flexible tutors ensure consistent execution across typical casual and mid-power tables.
