Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Aristocrats strategy built around Teysa Karlov. The primary plan develops a board of sacrifice outlets, repeatable creature fodder, and death-drain payoffs, which Teysa doubles to rapidly drain the table and build massive life totals. In the opening turns, the deck deploys low-cost ramp, disposable creatures like Doomed Traveler and Ophiomancer, and free sacrifice outlets such as Viscera Seer and Bartolomé del Presidio. By Turn 5, casting Teysa alongside drain engines like Blood Artist, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, or Bastion of Remembrance establishes a compounding life-drain clock. Opponents face steady asymmetric life loss through continuous combat and sacrifice triggers, culminating in a table finish around Turn 9. The deck features strong redundancy across its core engine roles and multiple reanimation tools, allowing it to function effectively even if the commander is removed. However, it remains vulnerable to graveyard hate and mass exile sweepers.
