Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Defender tribal strategy led by Arcades, the Strategist. The game plan revolves around playing cheap, high-toughness defender creatures during the opening turns and casting Arcades on turn 3 or 4. Once Arcades is on the battlefield, all defenders can attack using their toughness rather than power, turning inexpensive blockers into formidable attackers while drawing a card for each defender that enters play. The deck scales rapidly into mid-game combat pressure, using asymmetric board wipes like Slaughter the Strong and Wave of Reckoning to clear opposing blockers while keeping its own board intact. Evasion pieces like Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and sudden toughness pumps such as Tower Defense allow the deck to eliminate players in large combat swings. Mass blink spells like Eerie Interlude and Clever Concealment protect the board from opposing sweepers while simultaneously drawing a massive fresh hand upon return.
