Deck overview

This deck executes a Grixis control and reanimator strategy centered around Sauron, Lord of the Rings. The early turns focus on ramping with mana rocks, sculpting the hand, and discarding high-impact threats into the graveyard using looting effects. Midgame plays establish board control through removal, sweepers, and targeted recursion using engines like Liliana, Death's Majesty and Feldon of the Third Path. Casting Sauron provides massive value by amassing a 5/5 Army, milling five cards, and reanimating a creature on cast. The deck wins by overwhelming opponents through recursive combat damage from massive threats like Myr Battlesphere, Massacre Wurm, and Sauron himself.
