Deck overview

Boros Angels is a combat-focused deck that uses Aurelia, the Warleader to generate extra combat phases while a board of Angels and life-gain effects turn those phases into a one-turn kill. The primary plan is to curve into Lyra Dawnbringer or another Angel, cast Aurelia, then add a damage doubler (Gisela), an alternate win (Angel of Destiny), or an extra-combat spell (Full Throttle) to eliminate all opponents. Secondary paths include Chandra's Ignition on a large Angel and asymmetric land destruction with Avacyn, Angel of Hope. Avacyn acts as a hidden commander for the Armageddon/Obliterate plan. The deck also uses stax/tax pieces such as Ghostly Prison, Archangel of Tithes, and Angel of Jubilation to buy time.
