Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Golgari tokens-and-drain deck is helmed by Witherbloom, the Balancer, a high-curve Elder Dragon whose affinity for creatures (and the affinity it grants your instants and sorceries) turns a wide board into both a cheap commander and heavily discounted X-spells. The primary plan floods the board with Pests, Squirrels, Worms, Snakes, and Saprolings via engines like Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Beledros Witherbloom, Ophiomancer, and Sedgemoor Witch, then converts that density into life-drain wins through Blood Artist, Nadier's Nightblade, Dina, Soul Steeper, and Enduring Tenacity. Secondary finishers are massive discounted Exsanguinate / Torment of Hailfire casts and the classic Chain of Smog magecraft loops. Recursion from Meren of Clan Nel Toth and protection like Heroic Intervention keep the engine online. The deck wins through attrition, infinite drain, or a single enormous X-spell rather than pure combat.
