Deck overview

This Mono-Red Stax deck leverages heavy resource denial, nonbasic land punishment, and mass land destruction to suffocate opposing development while closing the game with formidable creatures. Helmed by Zhao, the Moon Slayer, the deck punishes multi-color manabases early with Blood Moon, Magus of the Moon, Zo-Zu the Punisher, and Price of Glory. Once opponents stumble on mana, the deck clears the board and wipes remaining lands with spells like Wildfire, Destructive Force, Boom // Bust, and Obliterate. Because the deck runs 27 basic Mountains and durable mana artifacts, it breaks parity effortlessly. It finishes games by attacking with massive evasive threats like Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Inferno Titan, Etali, Primal Storm, and Lathliss, Dragon Queen, while passive damage enchantments drain life totals. The deck performs best against greedy mana bases and slower value piles.
