Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Bant midrange engine commanded by Kellan, the Kid. It capitalizes on casting spells from outside the hand—utilizing mechanics like plot, adventure, flashback, retrace, and top-of-library casting effects like Future Sight, Eladamri, Korvecdal, and The Reality Chip. Each time a spell is cast from exile, the graveyard, or the top of the library, Kellan cheats a permanent with equal or lesser mana value or a land directly onto the battlefield for free. Supported by a dense suite of 16 one- and two-mana ramp spells, the deck establishes its commander on Turn 3 and begins chaining free permanents on Turn 4. On Turn 5, high-impact payoffs such as Railway Brawler, Chulane, Teller of Tales, and Virtue of Loyalty flood the battlefield with massive power. The deck also features a compact two-card infinite draw combo with Fortune Teller's Talent and Sensei's Divining Top. It closes games by Turn 7 via overwhelming combat damage backed by an overloaded Cyclonic Rift and premium countermagic.
