Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos big-mana strategy built around Ozai, the Phoenix King. It leverages firebending combat triggers to generate bursts of red mana that Ozai stores permanently across phases and turns. Early turns focus on establishing mana rocks and laying down synergistic combat creatures. Once Ozai enters on Turn 5, he attacks immediately with haste, banking unspent red mana and unlocking his own flying and indestructible abilities once 6 mana is stored. By Turn 6, the deck presents an imposing 7/7 indestructible commander threat while amassing a large pool of stored red mana. On Turn 7, the accumulated mana fuels game-ending X-spells like Crackle with Power or Exsanguinate, or powers extra-combat chains via Hellkite Charger and Full Throttle to close out the table. The list features robust redundancy in mana engines and finishers, backed by targeted removal, while remaining vulnerable to instant-speed exile effects and enchantment-based strategies.
