Deck overview

Vivi Ornitier is a spellslinger mana engine: she adds red/blue mana equal to her power each turn and turns every noncreature spell into a pointed ping and a +1/+1 counter. The deck's primary plan is to chain cheap instants and sorceries, ramp into a large spell turn, and finish with one of three combo lines: Niv-Mizzet, Parun enchanted with Curiosity/Ophidian Eye/Tandem Lookout; Hullbreaker Horror plus Sol Ring and Grapeshot; or a Grapeshot storm turn under Thousand-Year Storm/Ral. Secondary paths are drain through Guttersnipe, Firebrand Archer, and Fiery Inscription. The Emperor of Palamecia // The Lord Master of Hell is a supplemental payoff that can transform and drain, not a hidden commander.
