Deck overview

This Orzhov deck helms a life-drain strategy built around its commander Liesa, Shroud of Dusk, who punishes every spell cast with 2 life lost while taxing her own recast cost. The primary win condition is the infinite loop of Exquisite Blood paired with either Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Enduring Tenacity - any instance of life gain triggers opponent life loss, which retriggers the life gain, draining the table. A dense recursion package (Carmen, Cruel Skymarcher, Celestine, the Living Saint, Serra Paragon, Virtue of Persistence) provides backup and grind value. The deck also runs a suite of edicts, spot removal, and board wipes to control the board while the drain engine assembles. Liesa herself is a supplemental drain source, not a required piece, so the deck operates comfortably without her.
